I’m Just Saying… January 21, 2012

I was born and raised Mormon. I lived in Utah for more than fifteen years, including the entire decade of the the Fifties. It was, for a child, the absolute BEST place in the world to grow up, and my memories are all in high color. I remember only a few things that were “bad” about that time. I lived there again in the Nineties, and noticed a lot of changes. But this information is only by way of providing my “chops” to speak about Mormons.

There are, as in any subculture in the country, “good” Mormons, and “bad” Mormons. In Utah, all our neighbors, of course, were “good” Mormons. They were friendly, patriotic, helpful, self-sufficient, busy, and honest. But they helped me to see which people there could be classed as the “bad” type Mormon, and I knew a few of those, too.

One of the characteristics of Mormon faith is support for members of the congregation. This is such a strong motivator, that it can easily be corrupted into something almost frightening, like the loyalty of mobsters to their organization. Harry Reid and Mitt Romney are the icons of this outlook, in my eyes. (This is strictly my own opinion, please understand.) But these two men personify the cronies of the LDS heirarchy. My dad was a Ward Bishop and a Stake President, but even so, he was not highly placed enough to move into the closed and close-knit group of LDS hardcore. This hardcore group consists of those Mormon men who know the church is built on lies. They are the keepers of numerous physical proofs against them (acquired however it can be gotten, then squirreled away to keep the truth out of the view of the “pay, pray, and obey” membership). They are the hypocrites who know the beliefs are based on lies, but continue to force them on the low-level membership in order to protect their income stream.

I’m not saying that Mormons as a group are crooked, by any means. I still have several family members who remain in the LDS church, and the good Mormons I know are honest and God-fearing.

But I’m telling you, that while I would gladly place my life into the hands of a GOOD Mormon, I wouldn’t trust a BAD Mormon as far as I could throw him. I have experience with these people, and if you are interested, we can discuss it privately later. We all know that good people and bad can be found in any faith, any location, any organization, and under any circumstances, obviously. But seeing these guys in action is confirmation that bad Mormons are really bad people, no matter what kind of façade they have projected. They are clannish, and they protect each other no matter what. If lying to an outsider protects their secrets, their interests, and their crookedness, they do it without a qualm. If undercutting non-Mormon competition is possible, it will be done. Frequently, jobs will be given to members, and Catholics and others need not apply. When you look at Harry Reid and Willard Romney, you are seeing BAD Mormons at their worst.

I’m just saying…

Does he have ‘Mormon’ reasons for wanting to rule this country? Is he Obama lite in more ways than the obvious?

Mormons believe they will be the “last ones standing” in the event of Armageddon. This underlies their emphasis on keeping “survival rations” equivalent to a year’s worth of consumption. Aside from this, I think that the Mormon men I have known have a very exalted opinion of themselves; a very strong sense of entitlement.

It is taught that they (the “righteous” men) will each be given a planet to rule and populate in the hereafter. They say, “As God is, man will be; as man is, God once was.” For more, email me. It is not my design for this post to get into religious discussions, but I will be happy to talk about this in private.

I think he will be very easy to beat, provided enough real Conservatives vote. His resume is pretty thin. He’s had his butt kicked repeatedly. He doesn’t stir up much enthusiasm except among Mormons, for example. Utah patriots are going to have a dilemma on their hands: Country or Romney?? But I think he has some idea (probably helped along by Hairy Reid) that this is going to be HIS planet. LOL!

Thank you so much, Liz, for sharing yourself in order to enlighten us. This is that ‘reason’ pundits keep looking for as to why Mittens can’t connect with people. It is also, IMO, why his wife always looks so uneasy by his side.

Is this why he’s protecting his tax returns [donations to the church]?

Will we be able to rid ourselves of the specter of him being forced on us as POTUS do you think?

My word, Liz! I would have never suspected you of being on of “them.” I have only known a few Mormons over the years, and as you say, they are definitely clannish, and protective of each other. I have never found a Mormon that I could trust because they simply radiate distrust.

I am so glad that you were saved from this pagan religion. Sometime, I’d like to hear how that came about. Thank God you heard the Truth and listened.

Yeah, lots of skeletons in my big walk-in closet, I’m afraid. I believe my mother saved my soul. (You know what I mean. Jesus saves. But moms put their kids into positions for that salvation (or not).)

But, you do not want to cross up a bad Mormon. They are like the Sopranos. Slick liars, double-dealers, etc. I’m really thankful my father never got inducted into that “dark underbelly.” Knowing this means I don’t have to be embarrassed in honoring his memory. For example, my friend is just now learning that her paternal grandfather was “hit” by Whitey Bulger’s mob in Boston.
