Feeding Frenzy August 31, 2011

From the time she was selected to run with John McCain in 2008, Sarah Palin has been the subject of more malicious feeding frenzy from the press than any other person I can think of in the last ten years. No Hollywood celebrity has gotten worse reviews, more negative commentary, or more desperate attempts to destroy her as a photogenic and charismatic image beloved by a very large part of middle America.

Throughout it all, Sarah Palin has “grown.” She’s become even more confident in her abilities as a leader and candidate, and she’s putting herself forward in discussions more frequently, more energetically, and taking the fight to the opposition on a regular basis. One thing we know that Sarah Palin is NOT, and that is fearful. Nobody else so far has marched right up and looked the opposition in the eye, and asked the tough questions.

A good illustration of this was the incident in Alaska when, as Governor, she was facing down the oil companies, who had been in bed with the corrupt government for years, basically robbing the citizens of Alaska of the income due to them (Alaskans, who, according to the State Constitution, own the resources of the State, and are entitled to royalties) from the oil resources. While these negotiations were going on, one oil company executive went to Governor Palin, and sneered, “You have no IDEA who you are dealing with!” Palin looked the guy right in the eye, and stared him down. Fearful of the battle, she is not.

September 3, 2011 is fast approaching. Gov. Palin has indicated the importance of this date to her friends and voters, and we are all interested to learn what she will announce at this time. Most of us, obviously, hope she will be declaring her candidacy for the Presidency. As one who has had the honor of voting for Sarah Palin in the past, I can only say that my “trigger finger” is itching to do it again.

She has little to fear from her detractors. All the calumny in the past three years has done is reveal the national press and punditry as a furious pack of hyenas in a feeding frenzy. Not only have they failed to uncover scandal or incompetency, but they have actually managed to prove just the opposite; to show to the American voters what an honorable, hard-working, and experienced Chief Executive she really is.

Not content to savage Sarah Palin in the hope that she would remove herself from public consideration, their plan is to destroy every Conservative who would dare to run against their golden child, so they immediately turned on the next Conservative to throw a hat into the ring. It happened that the new candidate was another strong Christian woman. So far, the media attacks on Rep. Michele Bachmann are nothing like the incredibly vicious smears still being brought against Gov. Palin, but they are bad enough to indicate to people who watch these things that Rep. Bachmann is serious enough to frighten the leftists. Now, Texas Gov. Rick Perry has arrived on the scene, dropping his “ing”s admitting to carrying a weapon, all while wearing pointy-toed boots. To the leftists, this is just TOO MUCH like George W. Bush, and the word has gone out to destroy Perry at all costs. It appears that they fear Perry worse than they fear Bachmann, but still not as much as they hate and abhor Sarah Palin. Willard Romney, on the other hand, is scarcely noticed. His candidacy has the approval of the leftists as the GOP candidate they can most easily “live with,” so he is not attacked like the others.

Sharks. Hyenas. Pirahas. These creatures are pack-feeders who leave nothing recognizable of their prey, just like the packs of pundits and reporters who savage the Conservative candidates in this cycle’s race. But the biggest prize of all is the indestructible “Kong®” Palin who has been immune, impervious, unpunctured, and unruffled.

My suspicion is that even if someone else were to win the primary and the 2012 election, Sarah Palin would still suck the oxygen out of every venue she might enter. Leftists will tell us whom they fear, and they fear Sarah Palin like vampires fear Holy Water, Crucifixes, and rosaries.

Some cowardly criminals will do ANYTHING to escape the consequences of their vile behavior.Warren Jeffs isn’t even manly enough to kill himself outright, and he’s trying to starve himself to death. This is a WIMP’S way out. What a chickensh*t.

According to this creep’s beliefs, sexual excess is fine as long as he gets to be the one doing the raping. I sure hope he survives this little hungry spell, and lives long enough to get a real lesson in sexual dominance from Bubba and Snake.

Techno-Think August 27, 2011

The brain is a funny thing. One of its major functions is to remember things, and the facts, figures, and concepts of technology are no exception. Even if there was a cataclysmic failure of technology at some point in the future, the knowledge we already have would probably be sufficient to launch a reclamation of all we have learned and put into practice. Only a catastrophic failure of scientific and technological use –- a total wipe of the collective memories of nearly the entire human race -– could undo the Digital Age. As long as we have electricity and the means to utilize it; as long as there are six working telephones anywhere in the world, there will be use of the wonders of digital wizardry.

Tyrants so far have failed to keep technology out of the hands of people who have even slight means to use it, and although there are countries and cultures in the world who haven’t had the opportunity to discover the electronic, digital age, the die is cast. Just as you can’t unbreak an egg or unkill a victim, you can’t un-think the mental processes behind the technology of modern life.

Cellphones, laptops, fish-finders, traffic radar, GPS; not even a scratch on the surface of the technological tsunami that rolls around the world, gaining strength, complexity, adaptability, innovation, and availability as it goes. Once thought, it can’t be un-thought. The brain remembers these things, even if some brains remember more and better than others. Truly, in the case of technology and invention, the wish is father to the deed.

It’s doubtful that all the widgets, gadgets, networks, and whizbangs of the world would all go POOF! like Pierre’s moustache all at once. And, even if the system were to fail at some point in some large and catastrophic way, the hardware would remain, and once the electricity was restored, the system could be up and running again in an infinitesimal fraction of the time it took to conceive, build, adapt, and utilize all the support structures that surround it, because the technology we use and enjoy is only as usable as the brains that thought it up or built the hardware. Once conceived, once built, once adapted and utilized, the technology becomes a part of our mental processes, for good or ill.

Explorers in the jungles of Papua New Guinea or Central America are using GPS to know where they are at all times. Think those guides and bearers aren’t paying attention to that interesting little box with the window on it that the explorer is holding, poking with his finger, or talking into? Tribesmen with cell phones, laptops, and GPS — now, there’s an interesting thought…

If the electronic coverage of the world isn’t complete, it’s nearly so. Ships in the trackless oceans rely on it just as heavily as scientists and inventors. Farmers in the fields know where they are in the trackless sameness of their enormous fields with it, and even have laptops in the air-conditioned, pushbutton cabs on their tractors.

Technology is here to stay. Barring the instantaneous disintegration of the hardware we currently use and the total breakdown of any system we have used to produce that hardware, there isn’t much chance of losing what we have, with the sole exception of a complete and worldwide wipe of every memory in every mind. But the thought should give us pause. We appear to have become technological creatures, not just unwilling to return to simpler, less electronic times, but finally and irrevocably unable to do so.

Great minds, like those of Einstein, Tesla, or Feynman, show us that even little old grandmothers in rural Alaska can think coherent thoughts about technology and ponder its impact and permanence. Read the writings of the great scientific thinkers above, and understand that once thought, their concepts are as good as accomplished, even if the original thinker never picks up a soldering iron or builds a microchip.

For, once thought, those technological concepts, ideas, and expressions are with us forever, stuck in the retentive glue of our minds, clicking and whirring within us, urging us in tiny whispers, “Wii wants to play!”

Books, paper, pencils, and slide rules are still with us, and as long as we have those, we can restart the revolution. Those thoughts can’t be un-thought, and even if we don’t understand all we know about it, it is with us until the REAL supercomputer we all carry with us, the human brain, ceases to function. Like the Borg, we have been assimilated. It is futile to resist.

Thinking Back August 26, 2011

Thinking back over the last few years brought me to some realizations, and a lot of them have to do with how Sarah Palin arrived on the scene.

I don’t think John McCain ever wanted to win the 2008 election. His selection of Sarah Palin was sort of like an accident for him, and a MASSIVE shock to wonks and pundits, but more like a miracle for the rest of us. I think McCain had a thought implanted by the Holy Spirit that he couldn’t escape. No matter who he considered for the VP slot, Palin always came to mind, and he simply had no real choice. Without spending a serious amount of time studying her record in office in Alaska to get a true picture of her ability, he went along with the current wisdom at the time, which was that she was a nobody from nowhere, and she would disappear as soon as the election was over. I think if he had opened his mouth and tried to say “Mitt Romney” or “Mike Huckabee,” the name, “Sarah Palin” would have come out without his willing it to. If God could make Baalam’s donkey prophesy, He could make John McCain say, “Sarah Palin.”

This was why the lefties thought they had to trash her as badly as they could. Without really understanding WHY, they realized that she was such an utter threat to the way they were used to doing business that she had to be neutralized as quickly as possible.

I believe that John McCain ran the race the way he did because his handlers told him to do it that way. The fix was in, and the affirmative action president was ready to ascend the throne.

For that reason, McCain sold out and did as he was told. He ran a lackluster campaign that was SUPPOSED to be the wimpy, dishwater affair it was, a campaign designed to make the current resident more attractive in comparison. McCain and his handlers thought Sarah Palin would be an obscure, useless appendage who wouldn’t make waves and who would subside back into the pudding as soon as the current resident was inagurated.

But it didn’t quite work out the way McCain and his handlers had it planned, because Sarah Palin is “the boss of her,” and although she allowed the handlers to manipulate her to a certain point, beyond that, she wouldn’t let them push, and they resented it fiercely. The wonks in charge made the same mistake that a lot of people Outside, especially on the east coast, do, because they thought, “If you live in Alaska by choice, you MUST be too stupid to pour piss out of a boot with the instructions written on the heel.”

She created the only excitement there was on the GOP side of the 2008 race. She goaded McCain into the few episodes of watery enthusiasm he was able to muster.

GWB had his “strategery.” Sarah has her hunter’s instincts, her athlete’s tactical thinking, and her tough Alaskan mindset. And now, as she waits to see which one of the candidates in the current race generates the most enthusiasm and has the clearest message for the people, she is being slimed once again by the leftist press and the commiewonks they interview, because, to them, she doesn’t have brains enough to know she’s not wanted.

She is patient, however. That chapter in her copy of “The Art Of War” is dog-eared and marked repeatedly.

Projecting Power August 24, 2011

I read a comment from an English police official during the recent rioting in London’s suburb cities, during which the police merely stood around and watched while the looters and attackers went about their anti-social expression. He said something to the effect that “…American police control through force. We prefer to use civility…”

Right. Using civility always gets us down the road. Too bad it’s so often the road to political correctness and multiculturalism. “Civility” is a code word for “weakness,” and the leftists are demanding it of the Right, mostly because they know we have all the guns.

Another word for “power” is “authority.” How much authority is projected when we bend over backwards to be “civil?” In the case of rioting mobs, looters, and sundry miscreants, civility might save your life. MIGHT. But the force of authority will do a better, more lasting, and much more impressive job of it.

Another word for “civility” is “acquiescence” and that is what we do when we use “civility” to deal with terrorists, murderers, and usurpers without showing them our big guns and bombs. Think they are interested in seeing us mind our manners??

Does Russia use “civility” to keep order? Does Russia remember what “civility” means? Let’s just hope that when it comes time to match weapons, ours are bigger, or we will be in big trouble.

Remember “Shock And Awe?” American and allied troops marched into Iraq in numbers and strength that terrified its target audience: Saddam Hussein’s forces. From then on, all they could do was bluster and backpedal while Allied forces simply did the job of bringing order and bringing down a monster, who, up until then, had projected his own power through intimidation and terror. The US and allies projected more power through strength in Iraq with their naked weapons, and never lost it as long as they were allowed to use those weapons to insure order. But political forces whining for “civility” forced the powerful to give up their advantage in the interest of acquiescence. Now, Iraq is rocked again with political unrest, and the new administration of the US is too civil to do anything about the Iraqi freedom that was purchased with American blood.

Is America now just another “civil” society? Are backpedaling, conciliation, acquiescence, and surrender to be the new American methods of attempting to keep the peace? What kind of peace would it be without the force of power to back it up?

Have you ever seen a prison that kept control of its population with civility and acquiescence? Hardly. Prison guards keep order by carrying lots of BIG guns and projecting more power than the prisoners can. Only a show of power and force keeps those prisoners under control.

Whiny liberals are always whimpering about “peace” and “civility,” but the minute they think their rights are being trampled, where do they go? Straight to the government. Why? Because the government is the power in this country. We are saddled with a wimpy, ignorant, coddled group of enablers and sycophants, who squeal like girls when they see guns in play.

It’s a far cry from the armed citizenry that built this nation for the first century and a half of its existence. It’s a very sad thing to hear outsiders shake their heads in pity, and say, “How the mighty have fallen.” The mighty didn’t fall. In the name of civility, they handed over their strength, and just laid down.

We Told Us So August 22, 2011

Over the last thirty to fifty years we have busily gone about demanding the right to slaughter aborning the millions of taxpayers who should have been by now working, paying taxes, paying into our retirement and Social Security systems, as well as feeding the economy with their purchases and savings.

Years ago, liberated women who were horrified at the spectre of a life without no-consequence sex, with a growing population, and with an expanding economy, demanded easily accessible abortion. Many cooler heads looked into the future, trying to foresee the national (and natural) consequences of such a choice, and they all came up with the same nightmare scenario:

Killing babies THEN was going to lead to dire consequences thirty, forty, and fifty years down the road, in terms of culture and economy, not to mention the mortally sinful nature of the practice. Now, here we are, forty years or so since the abortion ruling, and what do we see? We see a frighteningly shrunken workforce, for one thing. Our economy has shrivelled to the point where it can no longer support the topheavy government and its profligate spending and borrowing. We have dried up the income that could have come from an expanding taxbase (read “workforce”).

Over the last thirty to fifty years we have busily gone about demanding the right to slaughter aborning the millions of taxpayers who should have been by now working, paying taxes, paying into our retirement and Social Security systems, as well as feeding the economy with their purchases and savings.

So, how did the super-geniuses in Washington decide to deal with the shrunken workforce? That’s easy. They imported foreign workers, and Mexico was all too happy to accommodate that solution, and they swarmed over our southern borders in, well, swarms. But the problem with this part of the liberal plan was that, even though they could manipulate the election process and get these criminal trespassers to the polls on time, they couldn’t get them to pay taxes, and all the influx of new labor was not only NOT the solution to the problem, but in their millions, simply added more strain on a crippled and failing system.

So, now that our chickens have come home to roost, what does the left come up with as a new solution? More pressure, more spending, more gifts abroad, more borrowing from China, etc.

No matter how hard the right tries to turn things around by cutting spending and defunding numerous wasteful programs, they are outshouted by the leftists who still believe the socialist mantra that the answer to our national problems lies in more government, more debt, more spending, and more regulation.

But the workforce is now shrinking even further, as jobs dry up because of the profligate spending, regulating, and oppression of o-care. The criminal trespassers have it easy. They just pack up and go back to their real addresses far to the south. We citizens, on the other hand, are locked into a Catch-22. We can’t leave (can’t afford to), we can’t work (our companies are closing or moving offshore), and we can’t save (home mortgages are foreclosed in record numbers), we can’t afford to pay the taxes the government demands, and all the government figures out to do about our desperate situation is to hire more government workers, raise our taxes, and print more useless paper “money.”

We were warned years ago, but were all busy trying to legislate sex without consequences, and didn’t read the signs telling us that abortion was counterproductive, and to abandon it before we killed the last future taxpayer.

We are finally AT the point we warned ourselves against then.

The 4-Page Playbook August 20, 2011

Page One: Conservatives eat children and push old ladies in wheelchairs down the stairs.

This poor old dog can’t hunt any more, but the lefties do love to pull it out and wind it up, even though its gears are stripped and worn. It even appears to work for a while in ignorant and susceptible people, especially newly-arrived democrat voters from other lands. I’m sure the believers really wish this was true.

Page Two: Conservatives are trying to steal your social security and retirement.

Even a superficial examination of the facts would prove this is a lie, but nobody bothers to take the time to check up on it, so it keeps getting trotted out and the same silly people as the newly-arrived democrat voters mentioned above swallow it hook, line, and sinker. Class warfare is getting more open these days. The leftists become more alarmed as the field of candidates on the right continues to grow, and all they have is the current resident, who is hemorrhaging support on every level. Backing a loser isn’t in their playbook, so they are stunned and flummoxed by the current situation. They are afraid to primary him, because he’s Black the anointed one, so they find themselves stuck with a total loser against a field of patriotic, charismatic, knowledgeable and popular candidates on the right. This is enough to send the lefties shopping for Depends.

Page Three: Conservatives are terrorists trying to prevent the have-nots from getting their just desserts from the haves.

Redistribution of wealth is the left’s only weapon any more. Propaganda is easily refuted and turned back upon them these days, with so many independent and conservative blogs on the internet. So the lefties are left to use the one thing that works with ignorant people, and that is nanny-state care. From cradle to grave, they insist that it belongs to those who refuse to work, and, through taxes and fees, take it away from those who do work. Of all the plays in their book, this is the only one with even a sliver of success.

Page Four: Conservatives are racists.

Finally, the favorite card in the deck.  It is so tattered and worn that it can’t stand up any longer.  Everyone who has had it played against them has easily trumped it with the truth.  If anybody is racist in this race (‘scuse the pun), it’s the leftists, trying one more desperately ineffectual ploy.

It is sad (not!) to watch the left frantically try to make up for the weakness of their position. They have watched their golden boy shred every last thing this country ever held dear, even some of the things those wonks and lackeys in Washington still had some fondness for.

And, it must be a terrible thing to be so deeply saturated with leftist, class-warfare ideology that one cannot conceive of jettisoning the perpetrator of the worst damage America has suffered since the Civil War. To be locked into sycophantic loyalty to such an obviously deranged and fallible “leader” would be agonizing for anyone but a leftist. They don’t have enough conscience to understand what has been unleashed on the world economy by their deliberate actions. They don’t see what has occurred, and therefore, they think the TEA party people and Conservatives are making things up. That’s why they have to dig out that 4-paged playbook again.

Not So Fast August 18, 2011

Texas Governor Perry has stepped into the ring as the latest candidate for the White House in 2012, and has already been pasted with some nasty snark from the leftist press, who hate anybody from Texas, especially anybody with a twang and wearing pointy-toed boots and a sidearm. Word has even gone out that he’s getting the same kind of treatment Sarah Palin has been getting for the last three years.

But, I think, not quite yet, kiddies…

There isn’t anybody in the race, declared or otherwise, who has endured the malicious, downright EVIL battering that Gov. Palin has received at the hands/mouths of the leftist press, and I don’t think any of them will. (the stalker has been indicted and arrested, incidentally…) Michele Bachmann is the only one who can even claim to receive bad press, and what she has endured has been N O T H I N G compared to the brutal mauling Sarah Palin and her family have endured for the last 36 months or so.

I know the Perry supporters love their guy, and he is colorful, exciting, and photogenic. But he can’t hold a candle to Sarah Palin’s record in office (check “handy palin facts” at the top of the page), and he will probably never have to deal with the vicious press savaging that Sarah Palin has put up with since she was chosen to run with McCain in 2008.

As for wishing for a Perry/Palin ticket, all I can say is, “Not so fast!” I doubt very seriously if Gov. Palin, should she get into the race, would wish to settle for another run as VP nominee. If she doesn’t think the top spot should be hers, she will stay out of the race, help the selected candidate, stump, raise money, and be able to sleep in her own bed most nights. But don’t be so quick to relegate her to the #2 spot before she’s even declared.

One thing I have noticed about the conservative people discussing these things is that they are incredibly FICKLE. Up one day with candidate A, down the next. Ditto candidate B, and so on. Candidates who are serious about their call can’t count on people with no more constancy than a teenaged girl in love with the football team. At least give Gov. Palin the respect of waiting until she makes her announcement next month, and don’t be so eager to go chasing after candidate B with your autograph books and cameraphones before she has even had a chance to say, “I’m in.” (Or not.)

Dear Politicians:

Remember this?

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

So.

When were you planning to start keeping it? Especially the part that says, “I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;”

…I’ll wait right here while you check your day planners…
