They say revenge is sweet. If that’s the case, then Sarah Palin should be taking insulin. The MSM is beside itself. Foaming at the mouth, spittle-flinging, rabid, deranged fury that she won’t play by their rules.
Her bus trip on the east coast is such a perfect example of “Gotcha!’ that it should be used as the ultimate example in any textbooks from now on.
The Sunday talk shows over the weekend were full of ranting elitists fulminating because she had not filed an itinerary with them. The remote camera crews were tearing out their hair trying to keep her in sight. Is it HER fault that there is a 20-vehicle convoy lining up behind her patriotic motorhome?
Doesn’t it seem to you that the pundits and talking heads are expending an awful lot of energy and mileage trying to rein in Sarah Palin, who is, as they repeat ad nauseam, a nitwit, a spoiler, and an unelectable nobody?
I do have to admit that it is tons of fun to watch them self-destruct over her every move, every word, every Facebook post. Little did they know when John McCain tapped her in 2008 that she would still be living rent-free in their heads 24 hours a day, more than two years later.
Yeah…”sweet” is a good word for it.

It’s getting more obvious by the day just how LITTLE the left knows about business, or the consequences of squelching it. Day after day, they impose more and more regulations, sanctions, regulations, taxes, regulations, tariffs, regulations, etc., until business in America is bent double under the burden. Many companies simply fold, unable to continue to work under such conditions, throwing their employees out of work, and adding to the problem. Others must cut payroll, departments, sizes, and raise prices to stay afloat.
These things are done willy-nilly to American small businesses by the government beancounters, who seem to have not the foggiest notion what their latest destructive pronouncement has done to yet another layer of business in this country. Like ripples in a puddle, the effects and consequences go out from each one of these niggling, petty, ignorant attacks and eventually reach the consumers and customers. It’s not hard to follow the devastation of the current resident’s business policies. Like the town floozie, he happily hops into bed with the first big donor who comes along, not thinking for a second about the consequences.
The left haven’t even a clue about how to run a business, what onerous taxes do to companies, especially small businesses, why people who used to work for some companies are now out of work, and they never, ever are able to make the connection between punishing businesses for making a profit, and the resulting unemployment.
The only way this situation could be continuing as it is is if it was deliberate, and the signs are numerous that it is exactly that. They have the Utopian idea that everyone needs to be dependent on the government for everything, so they blithely go about dismantling the engine that drives the economies of the world, convinced that we will thank them when we have only them to turn to for our daily bread. Somewhere in there, the realization that if we are all out of work, we won’t be paying taxes; taxes that would have been going to the support of the government, seems not to have sunk in past the first few cells of the epidermis.
This administration continues to hammer and punish the middle class in this country, intent on bending us to their will, without the slightest inkling that in the process, the goose that lays the golden egg is on its last leg. No goose, no egg, no middle class employment, no taxes paid in. No middle class means no income for the elites. But the left has an apparent inability to think that far ahead. Pray that we can endure until this nightmare is over.
Equivalents (Or Not) May 30, 2011

Where in the world have people gotten the idea that “moderate” equals “independent,” or vice versa?
In reality, nothing could be further from the truth. In political parlance, the two seem to be lumped into the same shapeless blob, as if it is necessary to dismiss any opinions held by these folks.
The moderates are going to be voting (if they even bother to vote) for the most liberal candidate, and history bears this out. They are the ones who will dither until they are in the booth. This is NOT independent thinking, and it does not illustrate the behavior of an independent voter. It’s laziness and a disengaged mind. Moderates might be libertarians, or, they might not. Whatever views they hold often appear to be bland and unformed.
An independent, on the other hand, is one who has decided political opinions, but who prefers not to be officially affiliated with either major party. As a rule, an independent voter is simply classed as a “U,” or “unaffiliated,” but the word moderate does not describe them. The unaffiliated voter most often aligns himself with the more conservative political party or platform. The terms “independent” and “moderate” are not interchangeable, and never were.
Take a look at their definitions:
Moderate: 1. kept or keeping within reasonable or proper limits; not extreme, excessive, or intense: a moderate price.
2. of medium quantity, extent, or amount: a moderate income.
3. mediocre or fair: moderate talent.
Independent: –adjective
1. not influenced or controlled by others in matters of opinion, conduct, etc.; thinking or acting for oneself: an independent thinker. 2. not subject to another’s authority or jurisdiction; autonomous; free: an independent businessman. 3. not influenced by the thought or action of others: independent research.
Now, I don’t see any similarity at all between the two words. It’s very annoying for independent people to find themselves lumped in with the lazy thinkers of the moderate persuasion in most punditry. It’s as if the writers themselves are moderates who can’t be bothered to take the time to look up the two terms, and see for themselves that there are differences between them, and they are not insignificant.
Please, pundits, don’t lump us feisty independents in with those lazy moderates any more. We are not amused.

High Noon For The Rinos May 27, 2011
Posted by lizp4 in Uncategorized.add a comment
An interesting thing occurred to me as I was doing some recreational thinking the other day…
It’s pretty much an open secret that the left and the RINO elites are scared to death of the possibility of a run for the presidency by Sarah Palin.
I think she scares them because of the damage they know she can do to their plans. If she is nominated, she will galvanize conservative voters across America. She has the ability, like Rush Limbaugh, to put into words the thoughts and desires of people who fear for the future of the Republic.
The best thing about Sarah Palin, the thing that makes her formidable in this race, is the fact that she has a record for putting crooks in jail, as I have said before. She is fearless. She’s pro-business, and pro-oil. She is canny and knows how to think strategically to win. She has the abilities that a real leader should have, and she has them in spades. Everybody recognizes the fact, even the people on the left who hate and fear her. They know she knows how to do the job better than anybody out there, and they know she has the majority of Americans on her team.
Meanwhile, real Conservatives and patriots are scared to death that Willard “Mitt” Romney will be the nominee because they know the damage he can do to their plans. Romney is scary to the Conservatives because he is a RINO’s RINO. He represents the moneyed, blueblooded east-coast RINO, the people who populate the Hamptons, Cape Cod, and Nag’s Head. He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, but they don’t see it. They are happy to have him as a candidate because he knows all the best people. He knows his place, so he’ll obediently sit down and shut up if they tell him to.
He believes he is entitled to the nomination because he has never stopped working for it, and, as far as he is concerned, he deserves it, it’s his turn, and darn it, RINO elites like him… Romney’s only experience as an executive was as his stint as Massachusetts’ governor, during which time he gave the people of Mass a present: Romneycare, a socialistic medical care boondoggle that the current resident has copied and forced on the rest of us. This is a truly scary prospect. Aside from these negative points, it might be a good idea for us on the right to take a good look at his personality. I believe there is a malignant narcissist lurking under the slick hair and hoity-toity pinky finger. As we are learning to our utter sorrow, a twisted personality in the White House is exactly what we don’t need.
The people the Conservatives really need to fear is the bunch of self-appointed kingmakers sitting in their cushy New England RINO bunkers. “Anybody But Palin” is their battlecry. Her record guarantees that they could lose their protection, perks, and privileges if she gets in. This is probably the first time they have ever had to really scramble to find a candidate who meets all their requirements, and who they think can beat a little lady governor from the least-populated state in the country.
Spiritual Warfare May 25, 2011
Posted by lizp4 in Uncategorized.add a comment
Spiritual Warfare is something you seldom hear of (at least, in my experience) in the “Sacramental churches.” But that doesn’t mean the Scriptures and the Fathers of the Church haven’t spoken about it. A few quotes to help you get the team up:
“Spiritual combat is another element of life which needs to be taught anew and proposed once more to all Christians today. It is a secret and interior art, an invisible struggle in which we engage every day against the temptations, the evil suggestions that the demon tries to plant in our hearts.” – Pope John Paul II.
“Whatever the less discerning theologians may say, the devil, as far as Christian belief is concerned, is a puzzling but real, personal and not merely symbolical presence. He is a powerful reality, the ‘prince of this world,’ as he is called by the New Testament, which continually reminds us of his existence, a baneful superhuman freedom directed against God’s freedom. This is evident if we look realistically at history, with its abyss of ever-new atrocities which cannot be explained by reference to man alone. On his own, man has not the power to oppose Satan, but the devil is not second to God, and united with Jesus we can be certain of vanquishing him. Christ is ‘God Who is near to us,’ willing and able to liberate us: that is why the Gospel really is ‘Good News.’ And that is why we must go on proclaiming Christ in those realms of fear and unfreedom.” – Pope Benedict XVI.
“No one wants to believe in evil, really, above all, not in an evil being, an evil spirit. Everyone wants to abolish the idea. To admit the existence of evil means a responsibility, and no one wants that responsibility. That is the opening through which the evil spirit crawls, stilling all suspicions, making everything seem normal and natural. This is the “thought,” the unwariness of the ordinary human being which amounts to a disinclination to believe in evil. And if you do not believe in evil, how can you believe in or ever know what good is?” – Father Malachi Martin.
“The Devil fears the Virgin Mary more, not only than men and angels but, in a certain sense, than God himself. It is not that the wrath, the power and the hatred of God are not infinitely greater than those of the Blessed Virgin, since Mary’s perfections are limited: it is because, in the first place, Satan, being proud, suffers infinitely more from being overcome and punished by the little, humble servant of God, her humility humiliating him more than the divine power; and secondly, because God has given Mary such great power over devils that, as they have often been obliged to admit, in spite of themselves, through the mouths of possessed persons, they are more afraid of one of her sighs of grief over some poor soul, than of the prayers of the saints, and more daunted by a single threat from her than by all their other torments” - Monsignor Leon Cristiani.
“We need to be especially alert to the evil subtlety of Satan. His one desire is to keep people from having a mind and heart disposed to their Lord and God. . .He wants to extinguish the light of the human heart, and so he moves in by means of worldly busyness and worry.” – St. Francis of Assisi.
Gen 3:15 I will put enmities between you and the woman, and your seed and her seed: she shall crush your head, and you shall lie in wait for her heel.
“How many myriads there are of evil demons and how numberless are their varied wiles! . . . They urge us to speak evil of one another, or, speaking sweet words, to conceal bitterness in our hearts, to criticize the outer aspect of our brother, while we harbor a wild beast in ourselves, to quarrel among ourselves and oppose one another, wishing to have our own way and appear as the most upright. Every man who enjoys sinful thoughts falls willingly when he welcomes (as in sympathy with) the suggestions of the enemies and when he expects to justify himself solely by his visible deeds, while within he is the abode of the spirit of wickedness, who teaches him every evil. The body of such a man will be full of shameful uncleanness – for he becomes a prey to devilish passions, which he does not repulse from himself. Demons are not visible bodies, but we become their bodies when our souls accept dark thoughts from them. For, having accepted these thoughts, we accept the demons themselves and make them bodily manifest.” +Anthony the Great, The Philokalia
Some tips:
First, get “prayed up.” Spend time in sincere thanksgiving and praise. If there is one thing the devil HATES, it’s a grateful heart. Trust the Lord to be with you in your battle. The more, the merrier. If you have some like-minded relatives and friends, gather them together, and go to battle.
1. Pray SPECIFICALLY.
2. Take AUTHORITY. You and God are a majority.
3. NO GROUND TO THE DEVIL!
4. Always Thank God for hearing your prayers and being with you.
The situation in America has been showing disturbing clues of being supported by the evil one. If that is the case, and I believe it to be so, the best thing that we can do as believers and patriots is to wrap ourselves in prayer and go after the influences. We are called to do this as part of our Christian witness.
Giant-Killer May 22, 2011

There is news out there that the Palins have purchased a house in Arizona. It could only mean that they are tired of Alaskan winters. But, it could also mean that she has special plans for the next few years, and flying back and forth from Anchorage to the South 48 is expensive, time consuming, and problematic.
We who love and respect Governor Palin know what an uphill battle she will have if she decides to run in the upcoming national election cycle. But even though it sounds daunting, it is only “just one more challenge” to a person who eats challenges for breakfast. Looking back on Sarah’s record in Alaska, it’s interesting to see how fearless she was when taking on entrenched corruption and desperate liberals fighting to stay out of jail. If anything, she’s only gotten stronger and wiser since then.
She may even have a tougher time against the mossback Republicans than she does against the leftists. The entrenched interests in the GOP bluebloods are not going to go down without a fight, but they keep forgetting that Sarah Palin never, ever backed down from a battle. Fighting to win is what she does. If she is challenged, she will only fight harder and think faster and farther ahead. It was the kind of brainpower that made her a highschool champion, then a tough and courageous governor, and it will serve her well once more as chief executive.
Expect an uphill battle, even here in Alaska. The old guard GOP here have a score to settle; several, in fact. They will be gunning for her like nobody they ever fought before. (Remember: GOP politicians in Alaska are really Democrats who learned how to get elected by running as Republicans.) They are desperate, but SHE is dedicated and knows what’s expected of the team captain. She is going to be upsetting a lot of applecarts on the so-called right.
Throughout it all, she is still Sarahcuda, still the experienced budget-cutter and giant-killer. Her record in Alaska is good enough for me, but I know that it will not be ALL she has going for her. She has an enormous asset in the enthusiastic support of the people; people who love her, trust her, and realize that she can be the leader who stops the headlong rush to fiscal ruin and national degradation among world powers.
The voters of America know a leader when they see one. Military Veterans recognize a fighter. Not many candidates would be able to shoulder the burden of expectation that the people of America are hoping to place on Sarah Palin. But she is the kind of leader who is equal to the task. It’s what giant-killers do.

1 Thessalonians 15-18 “15 For this we say unto you in the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who remain unto the coming of the Lord, shall not prevent them who have slept. 16 For the Lord himself shall come down from heaven with commandment and with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God: and the dead who are in Christ shall rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, shall be taken up together with them in the clouds to meet Christ, into the air: and so shall we be always with the Lord. 18 Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.
5:1 But of the times and moments, brethren, you need not, that we should write to you: 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord shall so come as a thief in the night.
Ever since I returned to the faith in the early seventies, I’ve heard that a “rapture” was coming. The word comes from the root, “rapt,” or “snatched up.” It’s where the term “raptor” comes from when speaking of birds of prey like eagles and falcons.
The Rapture” is a fairly recent development of fundamental Christian thought, and teaches that at some unspecified day in the future, the Lord will return, “snatch up” the righteous, and leave the evil and sinful to their fates on earth.
How do we reconcile this with the fact that Jesus told his disciples, ““But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” Matt 24:36 (KJV) “ It always fascinated me that there were preachers who thought they could figure out something that God the Father has chosen not to reveal.
The more I studied the Scriptures, and the more I learned of the Bible, and what it was telling me, the more often I encountered phrases like Proverbs 10:25 “When the tempest passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous is established forever.” This sounds like it’s the wicked who will be “taken,” and the righteous who will stay behind to inherit their fortunes.
So, what happens on Sunday, May 22? When these people wake up and see that they are still in the world, will they still believe? The rapture and the end of the world are two separate events. One event is foretold in the Bible. The other is a product of the calculations of humans. The Scriptures don’t lie to us.
The event described in 1 Thessalonians above tells us what will happen when the Lord returns in His glory. It does NOT refer to the taking up of special people who are believeing they won’t have to experience death to escape the earth. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this, the Judgment.” (Heb 9:27) If they leave the earth, it will be through the portal of death, and they will be judged at that time. As much as they would like the rapture to be true, they won’t be accounted as “sinless” while they are still alive, or taken to Heaven without passing through the experience of death.

From the looks of the quotes from the locksteps in the MSM, the word has gone out. And, it looks like the word is “RACISM.” Just glancing through headlines in the last few days has show me that nearly every article is about some liberal crybaby pundit accusing every single right-of-center speaker of “racism” (I almost said, “of one color or another…”). Here, here, here, and, here. And, that’s just ONE website. (Many thanks, NB!)
It’s almost as if they were all reading from one of those big, 3-inch thick, 3-ring binders; a playbook, perhaps something that says, “Beginning May 15, 2011, start using the term “racism” in as many comments, remarks, articles, contexts, and statements as it is possible to squeeze it into. If the topic isn’t about racism, MAKE it so…etc.”
It’s that PESKY “R” word I keep telling you about…

As Smart As Sheep May 15, 2011
Posted by lizp4 in Uncategorized.1 comment so far
Jn 10:1-10 Jesus said:
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever does not enter a sheepfold through the gate
but climbs over elsewhere is a thief and a robber.
But whoever enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice,
as the shepherd calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
When he has driven out all his own,
he walks ahead of them, and the sheep follow him,
because they recognize his voice.
But they will not follow a stranger;
they will run away from him,
because they do not recognize the voice of strangers.”
Although Jesus used this figure of speech,
the Pharisees did not realize what he was trying to tell them.So Jesus said again, “Amen, amen, I say to you,
I am the gate for the sheep.
All who came before me are thieves and robbers,
but the sheep did not listen to them.
I am the gate.
Whoever enters through me will be saved,
and will come in and go out and find pasture.
A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy;
I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.”
* * * * * *
When I was a kid, we lived the entire decade of the Fifties in central Utah. In those days it was safe to say that it was “sheep country.” There were huge flocks pastured all over in the desert, and shearing pens in quiet places. Many owners hired Basque and Spanish shepherds because of their knowledge of the ovine mind. The little “sheepwagon” was a common sight on the roads, most often horsedrawn, and following a flock. It was a plain farmwagon with a rounded top, like a very low tech camper trailer.
Sheep are not noted for their intellect. They are born followers, and are programmed to focus on the wooly rump in front of their eyes and follow it wherever it goes. But the sheep in today’s gospel show another trait of domestic sheep: They may not know a lot, but they know what they know. They know the shepherd’s dogs, they know the bellwethers, they know that when that particular, special human moves among them and speaks to them, he has their best interest at heart. It’s no stretch to understand, then, that sheep know their master’s voice. They will come when called, they wait for the shepherd to open gates, provide pasturage, water, and medical care.
We are frequently likened to sheep in the Gospels, because Jesus wanted to teach us that we are HIS. We belong to him, we should be listening to his voice, and be ready to follow him when he leads us.
“…Whoever does not enter a sheepfold through the gate but climbs over elsewhere is a thief and a robber.” The only way a sheep thief would be able to capture someone else’s sheep would be to sneak behind the gatekeeper’s back, climb into the fold and pick them up bodily and carry them away, because they would not follow anyone whose voice they did not recognize. The sheep would flee from someone who climbed over the fence instead of opening the gate and calling to them.
“A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy…” When the thief of souls enters Christ’s sheepfold with an eye toward stealing his sheep, we should be at least as smart as those Biblical sheep. We should not listen to the voice of any but our proven and recognized Shepherd. Those thieves will not carry away the sheep bodily, but they will try, with words, pretend-miracles, and bribery to get the Shepherd’s sheep out of that fold and into the thief’s. They have no love for the sheep, just a desire to steal them from their rightful Shepherd.
“I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.” It sounds like the sheep know how to make this decision without trouble. The least we can do is be as smart as a sheep. It shouldn’t be too hard to learn to resist when the devil tries to boost us over that fence. “When Satan knocks on my door, I just send Jesus to answer it!”
