Say It Ain’t So! April 30, 2011

“‘Truth, justice and the American way’ – it’s not enough anymore,” Superman says, “The world is too small, too connected.” Today’s Weenie-Whiner Fake “Superman”
It was almost lost amidst the flurry of goings-on in the last week, what with Easter Sunday, birth certificates and royal weddings, and stuff, but this is the saddest news I’ve seen in a long time. Who would believe we Superman fans from days of yore would live to see our hero actually relinquish his citizenship?? Aside from what this says about the “new” breed of pop icons, it tells us that America has reached a point of entropic decline. It’s sad enough that the “heroes” of today’s youth are most often rappers, drugged-out actors, and basketball players, but this episode, even in its fiction, gives words to the brainwashed state of young people today. It’s hard not to compare them to the people of their age from years ago, who had actual goals for their lives. It’s not surprising that the rudderless youth of today would come up with this globalist/utopianist attitude.
If you are a contemporary of mine, you lived during the Golden Age of Comic Books. You know what REAL comic books were supposed to look like. They were, well, comical, for the most part, and ten cents would get you a little newsprint magazine with several colorful, episodic stories in them, news and fan pages, occasional “serials,” advertisements for more comics, X-ray spectacles, and sea monkeys.

If you were really lucky, you had a local candy store that had “comic swap” and “used comics” stacks. You brought in your already-read comics and swapped them “1 for 2″ for used ones you hadn’t read, or bought them for five cents. And, remember the fat, 25-cent editions that came out at Christmas time? The ones full of great Christmas tales, mazes and puzzles, and music for “We Three Kings” and “Deck The Halls?” Or, how about Uncle Scrooge swimming in change in his moneybin, and battling the Beagle Boys?
The artwork in most comic books of the time was typical, but the Donald Duck series had true genius. Who could forget Carl Barks’ tale of the exploding outhouse or the “Gold Rush” issue? Or, square chickens, that laid square eggs?
And, Superman and our other heroes were utterly, utterly incorruptible. Absolutely true blue. Every molecule in their bodies was Red, White, and Blue. Even if you got an issue that blared on the cover that “SUPERMAN DIES!” you knew it would only be temporary. “BATMAN THROWS IN THE TOWEL!” A body-double, obviously. The artwork was simple, the bodies looked more normal for human beings, and the positions and poses were actually possible for human physiology to accomplish. Today’s so-called “comic” “heroes” are darkly drawn, with overdone anatomy, faces gnarled and snarling, stories full of sexual innuendo, and the characters are frequently menacing and weak of soul.
In the good old days, we could take a stack of newly-acquired comic books and head out to our treehouse hideout to while away a quiet summer morning helping Supe and Batman lock up bad guys, and laugh out loud when Donald and the nephews come up with one more scheme to wheedle Uncle Scrooge into donating to their ever-shrinking bank account.
There are two ways for real fans to look at this week’s treasonous statement by the modern Superman: Either he’s under the influence of some Kryptonite-based serum that turns him into a sort of “Anti-Superman, a la “Bizarro World,” or he is using the episode to help trap the REAL traitors, and we can expect the next issue to explain everything.
Either that, or comics, already gone and replaced with horrible, zombified and freakish parodies that have absolutely nothing to do with the original characters, have totally lost the whole concept of “comic.”
In any event, the episode is a sign of the times, and it just proves to us that all you have to do to be able to write a script for a “comic book” these days is make the story fit the editorial and political agendas of the publisher. Just one more sign of America’s decline.
Come back, Superman! Don’t let them DO this to you!!
Some Fun Thoughts April 29, 2011

1. William is not the heir to the throne. His father, Charles, is. William is “next in line.” (but, you knew that…) Prince Henry (Harry) is next. But any children of William and Catherine will supercede Harry’s claim. He would be in line after William’s offspring.
2. Lots of Americans share ancestors with William, Harry, the Queen, and all her blood kin. Royals have historically been quite promiscuous, and there are a lot of people who were “woods colts” of royalty, whose descendants came to colonial America.
3. Most of the crowned heads of Europe are related by blood and marriage.
4. Queen Elizabeth II has reigned for sixty years. Only Victoria reigned longer (63 years).
5. She may outlive Prince Charles, which would then make William king, upon her death. She can abdicate in favor of Charles before she dies, but her family is very long-lived (her mother was 104 when she died), so it’s probably not going to happen any time soon. If she abdicates, Charles is king. But he could also abdicate, most probably because of advanced age, and that would also leave the throne to William.
Wills’s Big Day April 27, 2011

Somehow, the moose limbs in London managed to back out on their plans for a demonstration outside the royal wedding on Friday without losing too much face. I’m suspecting that someone was able to explain to them in one- and two-syllable words that it wouldn’t be very safe for them to make themselves too visibly hateful while the good folk of England are busy showing their love for Prince William and his bride.
The English people love royal weddings, and they really love Prince William. And, they have a new fairy tale celebration coming up that promises to be a historical thrill and a delight. People will pick up their Union Jacks and portable radios and hie themselves to Westminster Abbey to stand outside for hours on end to be able to tell their posterity that they “were at The Wedding.”
In spite of the weakened state of their politics and economy, in spite of the welter of problems that plague sovereign nations when they submit to stupidity like the European Union, Englishmen are going to turn out in their hundreds of thousands to “be there” for the big event. America has its movie stars, opening nights, and award shows, but England has real Royalty, and for the most part, they love them.
Unfortunately, Whitehall is once again full of lefties; spiteful, whiny crybaby leftists who hate the royal family and are hoping to pee in the Prince’s cornflakes on his big day. Nothing would make them happier than to cause enough of a stir outside that people would be distracted from the joy, pageantry, and beauty going on inside Westminster. No one would be able to prove it of course, but it wouldn’t surprise me to discover they had let the invitation go out to all the anarchist, unwashed rabble of the world to be there or be square. There’s only one problem that I can see:
The lefties might get more than they bargain for. Being all excited about disrupting a royal celebration is one thing. Getting away with it without bruises, blood, and battering is going to be a touch more difficult. They claim they “want” physical confrontation, but they are a wee bit outnumbered this time, and the crowds are not going to appreciate snot-nosed anarchists and stupid little Che-shirted socialists trying to mix things up, and will probably be more than happy to accomodate the little cockroaches.
As I said above, the people of England, for the most part, LOVE Royal Weddings, and they love Prince William. They may not take too kindly to mannerless nitwits and masked and feckless cowards trying to get between themselves and the Royals on this big day. Englishmen also love a good fight, and if you catch them at just the right moment, they will happily and none too gently knock your block off and hand it to you, for the sheer pleasure of doing it.
I’m praying for beautiful weather so that lots and lots of feisty Englishmen (women and children included, of course) can get to town and get their places, and that at just the right moment, they get to prove to the leftists and troublemakers that they still have at least a bit of the old English enjoyment of a “jolly proper dust-up” left in their bones. The city folk may be a bit timorous, but many of the people in the crowds will be strong-willed country folk, who don’t care quite so much for rules as their citified cousins.
English blood still runs a rich red, and if I know my ancestors and kinsmen, (all but a pitifully deprived few of whom hail from the British Isles), they won’t be avoiding any commingling of fists and feet. Heads busted, lips fattened, and eyes blackened in a good cause are badges of honor. Here’s hoping there will be plenty to go around on Wills’s big day.

He was allowed by an ideologically-driven, white-guilt-motivated media to hop, skip, and jump his way to the pinnacle of world power without ever producing one single shred of verifiable evidence that he could do anything whatsoever but run his full-of-utter-BS mouth — even that, constantly enabled by a teleprompter. And Republicans winked and nodded and permitted the whole Orwellian spectacle due to their fear of being forever outcast as racists….Kyle Anne Shiver
Kyle Anne Shiver over at American Thinker has the Midas Touch. Seldom does she touch her keyboard and not have pure gold come forth. I know, it’s a lot of hyperbole, but she has a great record for putting it all into perspective. She has clicked the “24K” button again, and has presented us with the following gem: The Chord Donald Trump Strikes.
Now, as you know, Trump is not my choice for the nomination. But I know a fighter when I see one, and I really appreciate Ms. Shiver’s point of view here, because I (and a lot of others) feel the same way: The Donald is doing the dirty work regular Americans won’t do. He’s TOUCHING that third rail of political campaign rhetoric. He’s stirring up that hornet’s nest of entitlement, privilege, and secrecy. He’s announcing to one and all that the Emperor really is stark naked. The problem is, none of the GOP is paying attention to the REAL point of Trump’s sudden dash into the limelight: He’s showing us that the liar-in chief-has feet of clay. He’s showing us what we need to know, to do, and what to say about it. The shame of it is that the GOP is so intimidated from years of being in the minority that they don’t dare pick up that gauntlet. But people like Trump and Sarah Palin have done so, and set an example we would all be wise to follow. The GOP can’t afford to hold back much longer.
The current resident has gotten the idea (from experience, Affirmative Action, suck-uppery, etc) that he is untouchable. Say one word against him, and you are a racist; ergo, he is PFL in the White House. (That’s “_resident for Life”)
If the GOP don’t want Trump in the White House, they had better start waking up to what he’s saying and get out there, saying some of the same things, actually daring to differ with the _resident for life. If they can. If they really, really think Trump is a loose cannon, they had better get busy and tie him down, because he is telling the truth, or at least, more of it than any of them have been able to come up with since the current resident first stole his senatorial seat in Illinois. And the American electorate love it.
If the GOP doesn’t like his message, it’s time for them to finish what they started, admit they are liberals, go the rest of the way, and actually switch parties NOW. We don’t need them dragging us down and tying our hands while we fight to save this country from a dire peril. Trump is exposing lies and double-dealing, and an incredible coil of conspiracy. If this ever gets unravelled, it is going to be stupendous. Trump is our bracero, doing the work regular GOPs (and, of course, RINOs) are deathly reluctant to do.
If Donald Trump wins the nomination, it will be because HE EARNED IT the hard way, was willing to do the heavy lifting, say what needed to be said, and the GOP had better sit down and shut up, if Trump gets in. They won’t have anybody to blame but themselves.
Just one more reason why we need to vote every last one of those Caspar Milquetoasts out of there and replace them with guys who are really haired over and women with grit and wisdom.

There’s “Hope,” Then There’s HOPE April 25, 2011
Posted by lizp4 in Uncategorized.add a comment
One would think that we have had about as much “hope” as we can stand. First, we had the Boy Wonder From Hope, the slickster himself, who made much of his eponymous birthplace. It was difficult in those days to follow his reasoning, especially when he was entertaining pizza-bearing interns in the Oval Office, but there it was.
And then, painfully recently, we have had to contend with the brand of “hope” that the current resident forced on us in 2008. On that day, real hope in America was dealt a stinging, painful blow, and may not recover in our lifetimes. What these slithering mountebanks have perpetrated on Americans is a monstrous parody of the virtue of hope.
I had a rather painful time this last winter, with one setback after another, until I was almost afraid to go on. But, one day, the realization came to me that the Lord has a plan. Too simple, really. My job is to watch and pray in Hope and Faith. That, I can do, as can we all.
This week, on Easter Sunday, 2011, I noticed what seemed to be a theme: The theological virtue of Hope. We believers must have Hope in order to continue our pilgrimage as believers. God has given us His Holy Spirit, the source of all Hope, and we are to cling to it in all conditions, through good and bad.
There is always Hope. “In the end, three things remain, Faith, Hope, and Love…” Enduring Hope is the only thing we have now, as one thing after another that shored up our easy American lives has been removed or threatened, and we see our futures play out under the plans of evil and scheming people. Difficulties increase, threats and evil abound all around us. But Hope remains.
“We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” (1 Cor.4, 8-9)
Was I Psychic? April 24, 2011

I have five [now six] grandchildren, and their futures are already planned for them. They will live their lives in fear of the government, pouring whatever pittances they earn into the tax-hole, and receiving nothing for their trouble but more poverty and misery. Their minds will be numbed and dumbed, until they can no longer try to think of a way to undo the mess. Their children will pick up their burden and carry it all their lives. The die is cast, and our posterity are the big losers. We have betrayed those who trusted us. We have betrayed their trust by electing a utopianist and allowed him and his flying monkeys to strip us of our wealth, our commerce, our industry, and our pride, and our joy.
–from “If We Have The Will” (below)
I wrote this in 2006. It is still pertinent today. Scary, huh?
Or this, in 2009: If We Have The Will
And this, also in 2009: Making Their Move
I hope you enjoy reading these old posts as much as I did. Sometimes, I am surprised when I read a piece like “They Are Lying Again/Still” and see that even a dummy like myself can perceive the evil intent of the left. We must be vigilant. We live in evil times.
Christos Voskrese! Voistinu Voskrese! April 24, 2011

Christ is risen! Indeed, He is risen!
This little acclamation and response is repeated so many times during Easter Sunday Liturgy that it is stuck in our minds all day long. We go home, we go through our Easter Sunday celebration with family and friends, and in the background all day long is, “Christos Voskrese!” “Voistinu Voskrese!” over and over and over. What a lovely thing.
“Christos voskrese iz mertvych, smertiju smert poprav, I suscym vo hrob’ich zivot daravav!” “Christ is risen from the dead! By death he trampled death! And to those in the tombs, He granted life!”
May your Easter be holy and joyful, and may you always carry in the back of your mind, “Christ is Risen! Indeed, He is risen!”
Great And Holy Saturday April 23, 2011

Hymn of the 7th Ode from the morning of Great & Holy Saturday:
“Weep not for me, O Mother, beholding in the sepulcher the Son whom thou hast conceived without seed in thy womb. For I shall rise and shall be glorified, and as God I shall exalt in everlasting glory those who magnify thee with faith and love.”
“O Son without beginning, in ways surpassing nature was I blessed at Thy strange birth, for I was spared all travail. But now beholding Thee, my God, a lifeless corpse, I am pierced by the sword of bitter sorrow. But arise, that I may be magnified.”
“By mine own will the earth covers me, O Mother, but the gatekeepers of hell tremble as they see me, clothed in the bloodstained garment of vengeance: for on the Cross as God have I struck down mine enemies, and I shall rise again and magnify thee.”
“Let the creation rejoice exceedingly, let all those born on earth be glad: for hell, the enemy, has been despoiled. Ye women, come to meet me with sweet spices: for I am delivering Adam and Eve with all their offspring, and on the third day I shall rise again.”

Lo, there He hangs –
A shamed figure pinioned to the wood.
God grant that I might love Him
Even as I should.
I draw a little closer
To feel His love divine,
And hear Him gently whisper,
Ah, precious child of mine –
If now I should embrace thee,
My hands would stain thee red,
And if I leaned to whisper,
My thorns would pierce thy head.
Twas there I learned in sorrow
That Love demands a price;
Twas then I learned that suffering
is but the kiss of Christ.

Legs April 20, 2011
Posted by lizp4 in Uncategorized.add a comment
What do Donald Trump, Jerome Corsi, and Orly Taitz have in common? Not an awful lot, but they are adding legs to the birth certificate flurry that is going around the country these days.
Seems like everybody has an explanation for why the current resident continues to refuse to release his birth certificate and other life records. It’s a very simple matter, and as the individual listed on the certificate, he would be able to acquire a copy that would satisfy all curiosity, for only about ten dollars.
Instead, he just keeps skipping the issue and pretending nobody knows but him. At this point, it really doesn’t matter where he was born, since he’s already in office and there is no way to get him out of there. But that’s not the point of the current excitement. Why, if there is nothing untoward on the document, does he not produce it? It leaves him open to all kinds of speculation and curiosity, and inquiring minds want to know.
There are a lot of possibilities:
1. He’s not a citizen. This could have happened in any number of ways. My personal favorite is that he is an Indonesian, either by adoption or birth, or even both. I believe if he wasn’t BORN in Indonesia, he was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather. It would be brainlessly simple for his mother to just neglect to restore (or apply for) American citizenship to a child upon re-entry into the USA. (I think he looks more like an Indonesian than an African, anyway.)
2. He is a bastard. This is also way up there in the list of possibilities. Personally, I don’t care if his parents were married to each other, as long as he carries out his duties in a dignified and patriotic manner. As a citizen, it wouldn’t matter whether his parents were married or not. There’s no law saying that a bastard cannot become president, as long as he is a true citizen.
3. He has no copy of his certificate, does not know where it is, how to find it, and perhaps doesn’t even know for sure where he was born. It wouldn’t be important why this happened, but it would be nice to at least have an affadavit from someone with personal knowledge to step forward with irrefutable testimony. On the other hand, it might not exist because he has destroyed it. How hard would it be to put it in granny’s casket when she was cremated?
4. And, while we are at it, the same curiosity about his life records is nibbling at people’s minds these days. Why no school transcripts? Why no records of his Columbia days? Why no medical records (where did that huge scar(s) on his head come from?), no draft records, and, what’s the deal with the odd SSN (from Connecticut, a place he has never lived)?
This strange and curious situation is gaining legs since Donald Trump jumped into the ring and picked up the fight. He has the money to pursue this kind of search, the manpower to accomplish pretty much whatever he wants to get done about it, and he is waving it like a red flag in front of a whole country full of irritated bulls. He has said we would be amazed at what his people are finding out. (Most of us, I’m sure, are hoping this is not hype, and that he will actually reveal it at some point.) Even though most of us don’t seem to understand what this illegitimacy can mean for the country, there is a growing group of people who are at least beginning to get curious about the roots of the current resident.
We are all interested to see any kind of documentation that proves that a. we have a legitimate American president; and b. that he is really who he claims to be. As it is, we are left to speculate, to imagine, and to snoop. But his entire life, from its beginning to today, has been an utter lie. He is not who he says he is, he is not what he claims to be, and he has absolutely nothing to back up a single one of his claims that he is entitled to be where he is.
Like I said, it’s getting legs. Trump may be a lot of things, but we will owe him a debt of gratitude if this situation can be brought to a satisfactory conclusion, with all the proof we need, whether he continues with his presumed campaign for President, or not.
As a free (so far) nation, the United States and her people have a right to expect their elected officials to be not only who they say they are, but that they are qualified for any office they may wish to hold. The fact that the MSM covered for the current resident during the 2008 election campaign, and continue to make excuses and lap up his lies, tells us that they not only don’t care what happens to America, but they don’t care that the current resident is illegitimate and is breaking a lot of laws by pretending to be someone he can never even hope to be.
