Why must some people be subjected to reality while others live like it doesn’t exist? The reality of Wisconsin is that unemployment is around ten percent. My home state of Wisconsin is facing a projected $3.6-billion budget deficit. That’s bigger than New York’s deficit, and they have ten times more people than we do. Rush had a caller yesterday who was a former union official who said that every union striker is striking for HIS OWN JOB/MONEY, and the divvil take the little guys. It’s not a bit altruistic. By remaining absent today (Fri), they blew the chance to restructure the state’s debt (a time deadline passes today) which will cost the state an unnecessary $165 million. But they are not concerned about running up that unnecessary charge in addition to all the other waste they support. They are all for sticking it to the ordinary, non-union folks, so that the privileged union people can keep their gold plated positions without a wrinkle. I’m sure glad I USED to live in Wisconsin but do so no longer.
