Mr. President, you don’t know the HALF of it.
I Hope It’s Only The Beginning September 29, 2009

Ever wonder why the Republican party keeps fielding weak and spineless candidates? I believe it’s because they are desperately trying to find somebody of whom the left will approve. Of course, this can never happen, since the GOP has shown its true colors for so long that it is held in contempt — not just by the wonks and worthies of the left, but also all real CONSERVATIVES. Instead of choosing someone who will make the GOP stand out as the OTHER party, the GOPs keep picking sadsack, lackluster, weaselwording cross-the-aisle, go-along-to-get-along gutless wonders virtually indistinguishable from the party of the left. No wonder the GOP can’t get into the majority and stay there. They keep joining ranks with the same people who want them dead, and wondering why they are always so far behind, and why nobody in the press “likes them.”
This is why Sarah Palin scares the stuffing out of the left. This is why they are so desperate to destroy her before she becomes a real FORCE in American politics. I hope she has a huge contingent of sharpshooting bodyguards and food tasters, because the closer the elections loom, the more desperate the left will be to stop her if they think she plans to run for the White House in 2012. Her book is due to be published in mid-November, and the initial printing is going to be 1.5 million copies. I’m beginning to think this will not be anywhere NEAR enough.

She has done so many things no one was prepared for since she was tapped by John McCain to fill the VP slot on his ticket that she is driving the left insane. Celebrites love to mock her. It must make them feel safe from her “threats.” Politicians degrade her, insisting that she is not smart enough or canny enough to be in national politics or anywhere near international discussions, but they are STILL talking about “death panels,” a term she coined on her Facebook page. Yet, she keeps doing what she does, and manages with a Facebook page to shift and manipulate the public discourse to such an extent that everything the press is pushing at the moment is dropped like a scorpion, and the gauntlet of her reasoning is snatched up by her intellectual and moral inferiors. But all their mockery goes nowhere, since the things she is saying go straight to the nut of the topic (and straight to the PEOPLE), and she reasons circles around the proclaimed “finer minds” on the left.
It’s pretty clear that the state-run media talking heads can’t think about Sarah Palin without fear. To them, she is a frightening symbol of their ignominy and their uselessness. In their sycophancy, they have left themselves wide open to discovery by those who don’t buy their propaganda. In the same way that the newspapers and other print news media are swirling around the bowl, so too the state-run cable networks are finding themselves increasingly irrelevant and joining the swirling flush. Sarah Palin utilizes an alternative media to get her ideas out to the people and creates a phenomenon on the internet social networks.
Why is this one lone woman striking terror into the hearts of those on the left? Well, probably because they haven’t been able to destroy her. To them, she must seem like a juggernaut of everything they stand against. Let us pray that her example will inspire and encourage others to jump into the fray. A woman unafraid, unmoveable, and undeterred is something the left has never had to face, and they are flummoxed. I hope this is only the beginning.
UPDATE: I just heard that Sarah’s upcoming book is #1 on Amazon and it hasn’t even been printed yet. Hmmm…
Equality? September 28, 2009

It’s interesting how the leftists think we can all be herded around and into these programs “for our own good” and “in the best interests of the country,” without our noticing that they are trying to push us all into their pre-conceived little stanchions, cages, and pens. Americans are notoriously difficult to herd. Enjoy the “Herding Cats” commercial that graced the 1991 Superbowl, and think about how we American voters, like those cats, are mostly a bunch of independent thinkers when it comes to being “handled” by politicians and forced into someone else’s choices for us.
Equality of outcome? (income?) Don’t you DARE try to earn enough money to save something for a rainy day, and don’t EVEN think of trying to make enough to buy some of the finer things of life. Because, apparently, that stuff is all reserved to the elite, to be paid for by the dollars they confiscate from the rest of us. Don’t even think of using competition to rise above others with similar ideas, or to excel in our chosen fields without government oversight, restrictions, and regulations.
Equality of opportunity? How interesting that the idea of real opportunity and The American Dream has been so soiled and smeared by the current crop of political insiders that many people have given up hoping for even a crumb of the crust of the pie. The only opportunities you will see will be among the elites as they jockey for each other’s positions and manipulate to “get ahead.” Those of us who pay, pray, and obey will be left holding the poopy end of the stick yet again.
CPG Is Born September 28, 2009

When the Tea Party in Wasilla was such a resounding success, there were a lot of people involved who simply did not wish for that momentum to subside. People were mad at the government, and getting madder by the day as news continually reported one anti-Constututional, anti-citizen proposal after another wafting out of Washington. There had to be a way to channel that angry momentum and put it to good use. And, there was.
Out of the Tea Parties grew the Conservative Patriots Group. This is a local group of Conservatives who have finally reached the point of fighting back. They realize that one doesn’t simply jump up out of one’s recliner and run for the Presidency, but they did understand that “grass roots” that had real roots came from local government. So, they chose as their aim the education of the electorate and the vetting of candidates and issues in local elections. The CPG would research candidates, investigate issues, and get the information out to the voting public before elections so that the voters would have an understanding of the candidates’ position or political alliance, and would be able to cast knowledgeable votes for the conservative candidates in each election.
This weekend, the “Valley Home Show” provided an opportunity for CPG to tell people about themselves, and to get the information they had found on the upcoming local elections out to the voters. The show was three days long, but I only participated personally for one afternoon.
One of the things that surprised me was how many people took applications for membership in the group, and how long people stood and talked to us. Some just wanted to expound on their opinions, but most were curious and asked good and pointed questions. The volunteers were equal to the task, and were able to answer satisfactorily, easily, and with good humor.
It was our first opportunity to try out the CPG’s visibility in the Valley and to feel the pulse of the average working people in this part of Alaska, and it was very pleasantly surprising to find how many people shared our concerns about the direction in which the country is moving. Because the group is so new, there was very little time in which to do research, prepare educational materials and provide exhibit space. But, for a shakedown cruise, it went better than expected and the results were very gratifying.

This is a link to a thread on Free Republic. It is the transcript of Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to the UN today. It is illustrated with photos from the history of Israel and her people. They stand alone today, amidst their sworn enemies. Please remember the APPLE OF GOD’S EYE in your prayers.
Betrayal September 24, 2009

There is a special feeling that goes with being betrayed. It’s a mixture of anger and pain, and it is not a pleasant feeling. On the one hand we want to retaliate and “right the wrong” done us. On the other hand, we are stunned that we could have been so foolish as to allow the betrayer access to our finer feelings. Please note the current resident’s absolute stab in the back of Poland and the Czech and Slovak Republics.
Why Is It? September 20, 2009

One of the things I’ve never been able to figure out is this: Why do we scrimp and save for years, get second mortgages on our homes, or go into debt to provide college educations for our children, when 1) Many times, they don’t appreciate the sacrifices we have made for them; 2) they look on college as one big beer bust/hookup; 3) the professors and courses are monstrously antithetical to all we believe, to our values, and to our national honor.
Ivy League schools are hotbeds of anti-American rhetoric and Marxist propaganda. Kids fresh out of (woefully inadequate) high school are plunked in front of hate-filled professors to have their brains removed while mom and dad wait at home for news that their darling scion has at last matured into full all-American manhood. When/if this offspring comes home for a seasonal break (no longer called “Easter” or “Christmas”) he is a virtually-lobotomized leftist useful idiot who can say nothing without babbling the latest party line.
And, mom and dad went into DEBT for this?? What’s wrong with this picture? About the only thing their darling child picks up in college besides hatred for America is an STD or two and a problem with alcohol. Paying through the nose for the privelege of having a child returned to them without scruples, brains, liver, or virtue is not most people’s idea of the American dream. I have to admit that I told my kids that if they went to college, it would be on their own nickel. Only one took me up on it. He got within three months of a Bachelor’s degree in “International Affairs” with a minor in French, then bunched the whole thing. Wonder of wonders, HE woke up in time to realize that the school he had so faithfully attended and diligently paid to for his tuition was a propaganda mill and he was the latest peppercorn to fall into the grinders. Today, he is a useful citizen, and a proudly CONSERVATIVE, knowledgeable voter.
With any luck at all, American parents will soon come to their senses and start to insist that their kids get jobs and actually pay for any college education they may wish to pursue. My advice would be this: Forget college. Go to a good trade school and learn a REAL TRADE. Then get out into the work force and add to the real economy the RIGHT way. A little work never hurt anybody, and a lot of work is good for the country.
